Blow-up a Character Project

In reading, we spent the last two weeks taking characters from The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle and blowing them up to LIFE SIZE proportions!

This was a multi-faceted and difficult project and I am so proud of the grit our students showed when tackling this project.

They were responsible for:

1) Finding quotes from the book that described what their character looked like.

2) Inferring their character's character traits and finding text evidence to support their inferences.

3) Determining one of their character's motives and explaining how they know it is their motive.

Then, they created a life-size artistic representation of their character. They incorporated the quotes and inferences symbolically into their appearance.

Stop by before or after school and ask your student to give you a tour of their character! Each character has some hidden traits and mysterious motives that you may only find with an expert tour guide!
